‘Young Warriors’
A University Of Glasgow & Big Light Podcast, 2025
Working with academic Professor Alistair Fraser (UoG) & Lead Series Producer Robbie Armstrong (The Glasgow Bell, Freelance Radio Producer & Former Morning Call Producer, BBC Radio Scotland), I helped produced this series which aimed to flip the script and inform listeners about some of the youth-led change that’s happening across the UK from the streets of London to finishing the journey in Glasgow. I’ve highlighted a personal favourite from the series – a historical look at Gangs in Dundee with some stories of Dundonian grannies running gang-jumper knitting cottage industries and Dundee’s own Romeo & Juliet.
Young Warriors was featured as a Guardian Podcast of the week on Monday 2/6/2025 – read the article here
Co-producer & Engineer
‘Research Matters’
A UWS Research Podcast. 2023-2024
Launched in January 2023, I co-produced and engineered this podcast that aims to showcase the variety of research that is undertaken at the University Of The West Of Scotland with a core focus on making it accessible for the general public.
Audio was produced and recorded using a Rødecaster Pro with Røde PodMics.
Presenter & Producer
Presenter/DJ
Radio Buena Vida, 2025-
An occasional 1-hour programme with a selection of vinyl records from my expansive collection. Running with the by-line Eclectic | Electronic | Vinyl, the show really does what it says on the tin. Also my first ever experience of visualised live radio!
UWS Radio 24hr broadcast Breakfast Show Front Pages
UWS Radio, 2020
Broadcasting under the working title “Good Morning Ayrshire” as part of a continuous 24 hour broadcast in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice charity in January 2020, this segment features an outline of the front pages of the papers that day (notably, Brexit day). Some of the stories were covered in greater detail later in the programme.
Synthesist Podcast Episode 3: Electronic Music Live w/ Julian Corrie
Podcast, 2016
Synthesist Podcast (now on hiatus) was a synthesiser and music technology podcast that ran between 2015 & 2016. In this episode, co-host Michael Mavor and I talk to Julian Corrie a.k.a. Miaoux Miaoux (now keyboard player for Franz Ferdinand) about playing electronic music live, and get nerdy about why Roland Juno 106s have a bad habit of dying.
A full playlist containing episodes of the podcast is available here.
Mince Pie Taste Test segment from ‘The David Allan Show’
UWS Radio, 2016
Dubbed a ‘public service’ and ‘good radio’, this is a recording from a radio programme broadcast on UWS Radio from 14/12/16 in which 3 brands of mince pies were put to the test – a ‘value’ mince pie, a ‘brand-brand’ mince pie and a ‘premium brand’ mince pie.
Engineer
David Scott Voice Over Recording
I had the privilege of recording David’s voice over track in one of the radio studios located on the UWS Ayr campus.
Audio was recorded through Broadcast Radio’s Myriad studio system with an Aston Spirit Microphone.
