Scenes From Strathclyde: Outtakes and Extras

Here’s some Outtakes and extra Behind-the-Scenes content from the projects’ production.

Day 1 – Helensburgh Outtake

A little outtake video of some raw audio edited with one of the digital captures of Helensburgh’s Colquhoun Square. Contains a swear or two.

Scenes From Strathclyde BONUS – I Travel

Borrowing the title from an early Simple Minds song, this video comprises some ambient audio from: (1) The Train to Glasgow up the Ayrshire Coast on Day 3 of the ‘Scenes’ Production (2) A Glasgow Subway Train from St. Enoch, then under the Clyde to just before Bridge St. Station.

Behind the Scenes Photos

A wee gallery of B.T.S. photos from across the production days – a mixture of images taken by Michael Park and I.

Day 1
“Don’t worry, I brought the wind fluffs”
Certainly look as though I know what I’m doing
The string I had long-used as a camera strap for the OM has now been replaced
The people of Helensburgh’s Pier were gawking in wonder at the media technology
Resting grump-face, or, probably went into the wrong menu or something.
Image that went into an instagram story titled “The people of Helensburgh enjoyed their main character moments”. Michael the real life version of the thinking emote.
Selfie, slowly getting burned on Greenock Victoria Harbour
The quaint spot we situated ourselves in for the Gourock recording/photo session, feat. the Ford chariot
Snapped this ancient bridge advert for the long-defunct ‘Talbot’ brand whilst we were driving to Paisley Canal
The new Canal station, from the old Canal station
Phone shot of the locale we were at for the ‘Old Mill’ recording/photo session
Zoom H6 screens are pretty unreadable in sunlight
Day 2
Set-up selfie, Girvan Harbour
Michael wanted to get closer to the sound for a take. No audio equipment was sunk in Girvan Harbour
A selfie on Burns Statue Square. Pong of council fertiliser (manure) from the flower beds was awful
Wee selfie at Ardrossan Harbour
Day 3
All the various celebratory plaques regarding the Queen Street Low Level electrics’ milestones.
Concert Hall Grafitti
Ghost Train at Bridge Street Subway
The hub for all of Glasgow’s ‘Yee-haw’ population

Day 2 was a really hectic one, we didn’t take too much time to post on socials that day.

Day 3

And finally, in a tribute to the Kamala Harris meme in the 3rd panel (celebrating Joe Biden’s success in the American elections), I made this story as we completed the practical production work for the project:
